Sarah Welch received her Master’s Degrees in Chinese Medicine from Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville, NC. She is nationally certified in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and licensed to practice in Georgia.
Rooted in the teachings of Classical Chinese Medicine, her education consisted of four years of rigorous study, including a 2-year, 800-hour internship. Components of this curriculum included acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition, dietary therapy, tui na massage, and qi gong. The program emphasized a strong foundation in Western medicine in order to provide the best patient care.
In her practice, Sarah integrates knowledge of Chinese and Western medicine and makes referrals to other practitioners for specialized or additional care, as needed.
Sarah has studied under Jeffrey Yuen, an 88th generation Daoist priest and a leader in bringing Classical Chinese Medicine to the West. In her practice, she utilizes Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Five Meridian System (Primary, Luo, Eight Extraordinary, Sinew and Divergent meridians), Five Element acupuncture, and the NADA addictions protocol. These methods provide an array of tools with which Sarah can best meet her patients' needs.
